Door installation in Milwaukee & SE Wisconsin.
Entry, interior, patio, and storm doors — measured, set, sealed, and trimmed by the same carpenter who quotes the job. No sales team, no subcontractor you've never met. Just Dan Cleveland and a crew he works alongside.

A door is the one part of your house you touch every single day. Hung even slightly out of square it sticks, drafts, and never quite latches right. Done correctly it disappears into the work — which is the point.
That's the standard on every door we hang.
Owner-operated, quote to cleanup
Dan measures the opening. Dan gives you the quote. Dan is on the job the day of the install. There's no handoff, no “the installer will call you,” no subcontractor you've never met. One person owns the whole job start to finish.
Framing background, not just hanging
Dan came up framing new homes and 175-unit builds before focusing on finish work. That matters the moment a rough opening isn't square, a sill is soft, or the old jamb was hiding water damage — we make the framing right instead of shimming over the problem.
Hardware and trim included
Locksets, hinges, smart locks, weatherstripping, interior casing, exterior brake mold or aluminum wrap — it's all part of the job, not a list of extras. You get a finished door, not a slab in a hole.
The door brands we install.
We install four primary brands, and we're certified Therma-Tru installers — with the ability to add certifications as needed. Each has a place depending on your budget and what the door needs to do.
Therma-Tru
We're certified Therma-Tru installers. Strong fiberglass and steel entry systems with a Limited Lifetime Warranty and a deep catalog of styles and finishes.
ProVia
Premium entry and storm doors with excellent fit and finish, backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty on fiberglass and steel. A go-to when the entry is the focal point of the home.
Pella
Strong patio and sliding door options, with insulated-glass coverage up to lifetime on many products. Familiar, well-supported, widely available.
Waudena
A Wisconsin-region millwork line for entry systems — solid value with quality construction for the climate.
For budget-conscious projects we can source big-box doors like Masonite and JELD-WEN. Worth knowing up front: cheaper doors often increaselabor because of fit and quality inconsistencies. We'll tell you honestly when spending a little more on the door saves money on the install.
Types of doors we install.
We install every door type, prehung or slab, full replacement.
- Entry / Exterior Doors
- The front door, side and back entries, and service doors. Fiberglass, steel, or wood, with full weatherproofing and the threshold and jamb insulation that actually keeps Wisconsin winters out.
- Interior Doors
- Bedroom, bath, closet, and passage doors — prehung or slab, single or in volume. A full house of interior doors with matching casing is one of the highest-impact, lowest-disruption upgrades in a home.
- Patio, Sliding & French Doors
- Sliding glass and hinged French patio systems. Properly flashed and insulated so the largest opening in your wall doesn't become its biggest air leak.
- Storm Doors
- Adds a weather and energy buffer in front of your entry door and extends its life. Full-view, ventilating, and security options.
- Closet & Barn Doors
- Bypass, bifold, and sliding barn-door hardware, hung level and true so they actually glide instead of binding.
Fiberglass, wood, or steel: which is right for you?
All three are legitimate. The right one depends on your budget, how much maintenance you want to do, and the look you're after.
Fiberglass
The most options of any material — wood-grain textures, gel-coat finishes, a huge range of styles — with minimal maintenance. For most homeowners this is the best balance of looks, durability, and upkeep.
Wood
Genuinely beautiful and unmatched for a high-end or historic look. The trade-off is cost and ongoing maintenance — wood needs periodic refinishing to hold up to Wisconsin weather.
Steel
The most budget-friendly entry option and solid for security. The trade-off is that steel shows dings and dents over time and is harder to make invisible once damaged.

Here's exactly how a door install runs, start to finish.
- № 01
Request a quote
Fill out the form on our contact page or reach out directly. Dan responds — not an office manager, not a dispatcher. - № 02
On-site measurement
Dan comes out, confirms measurements, and documents existing conditions — including any rot or hidden damage around the opening — so the quote reflects the real job, not a guess. - № 03
Order and inspect
Once you approve, we order. When the door arrives we unbox and inspect it and verify it matches the order before install day — so a factory defect doesn't become your problem mid-job. - № 04
Protect the home
On install day we protect the interior with drop cloths and plastic barriers before anything comes apart. Your floors and furnishings are covered. - № 05
Remove, prep, and dry fit
We remove the old door, clean the rough opening, make any framing adjustments, and dry-fit the new unit to confirm it sits right before anything is permanent. - № 06
Set and secure
We bed caulk, set the door, shim, and temporarily secure it — confirming operation and reveals are perfect before final fastening. Nothing gets locked in until it's right. - № 07
Insulate, trim, and finish hardware
Foam insulation around the unit, interior casing, exterior brake mold or aluminum wrap, and all hardware installed and adjusted. - № 08
Walkthrough and cleanup
We walk you through operation, confirm you're 100% satisfied, clean up completely, remove all debris and the old door, and take after photos.
- · Single entry door: 2–4 hours
- · Full house of interior doors: ~2–2½ days

Built for Wisconsin winters.
Where a door install actually succeeds or fails is the part you never see once the trim goes on.
- Insulation beneath the threshold and fully around the jamb and rough framing. This is the single biggest factor in drafts and energy loss through a Wisconsin winter — and the step most installers rush.
- Every door rigorously function-tested. Operation and reveals confirmed perfect before final fastening, not after.
- Tight, well-joined casing miters. We confirm every interior casing miter is tight and clean before we pack up.
- A real walkthrough. We walk the finished door with you and confirm you're 100% satisfied before we leave.
- Old door removed and disposed. Plus optional professional paint and stain using top-of-the-line products.
Two layers of coverage.
- Our 2-year labor warranty covers the install itself — the workmanship that keeps the door operating, sealed, and trimmed the way it left us.
- Manufacturer warranties are strong across our preferred brands. Therma-Tru and ProVia both offer Limited Lifetime Warranties on fiberglass and steel doors, with 5–10+ years on factory finishes. Pella covers insulated glass up to lifetime on many products.

Frequently asked questions.
- What door brands do you install?
- Our preferred brands are Pella, Therma-Tru, ProVia, and Waudena — we're certified Therma-Tru installers. For budget-conscious projects we can also source big-box doors like Masonite and JELD-WEN, but be aware that cheaper doors often increase labor because of fit and quality inconsistencies. Spending less on the door can cost more on the install.
- Fiberglass, wood, or steel — which entry door should I choose?
- For most homeowners we recommend fiberglass. It offers the most options — wood-grain textures, gel-coat finishes, a huge range of styles — with minimal maintenance. Wood doors are beautiful but expensive and need ongoing upkeep. Steel is budget-friendly but shows dings and dents over time. We'll walk you through the trade-offs for your specific entry.
- How long does a door installation take?
- A single entry door typically takes 2 to 4 hours. A full house of interior doors runs roughly 2 to 2½ days, depending on complexity and how much trim work is involved.
- Do you repair doors, or only replace them?
- Full replacement only — no repairs. We work with both prehung and slab doors, and we handle everything top to bottom: locksets, hinges, smart locks, weatherstripping, and all interior and exterior trim and casing.
- What's the lead time on a new door?
- Standard lead time is 4–6 weeks from order. Special-order doors can run up to 10 weeks. We give you a realistic install window when you order and flag any slippage immediately.
- Do you handle painting and staining?
- Yes. We offer professional paint and stain services using top-of-the-line products, so your new door is finished properly rather than left for you to deal with later.
- What does your warranty cover?
- We back our workmanship with a 2-year labor warranty. Manufacturer coverage is strong across our preferred brands — Therma-Tru and ProVia both offer Limited Lifetime Warranties on fiberglass and steel doors, with 5–10+ years on factory finishes. Pella covers insulated glass up to lifetime on many products.
- What do you do differently for Wisconsin winters?
- We pay special attention to insulating beneath the threshold and completely around the door jamb and rough framing. Most installers skip how thoroughly this is done — and it's the single biggest factor in drafts and energy efficiency through a Wisconsin winter.
